BOXING

I tried a new fitness class, boxing. Been a long time since I did fighting, but the lush aching you feel after is amazing. Pete (instructor) is one of the best there, really good. Spoke to some of the people and several of them had been going regularly for 18 months! I did Tae Kwon Doe from like 13 to 16, but then I stopped cause I got so demotivated and frustrated after three years.

Came home and straight away orded some AmPro boxing wraps for your hands. It's to support the wrist (or hand in general) and the knuckles. You have them on underneath the gloves or without gloves.

I've always found boxing an exciting sport to watch, so easy to get dragged into the excitement. Last year we got, at least I think so, the boxing film Warrior.

An inspirational and exhilarating roller-coaster of a film, Warrior centres around Tommy (Hardy) - an ex marine haunted by a tragic past, who enlists the help of his estranged father (Nick Nolte) to train up for the fight of his life. A former wrestling prodigy, Tommy blazes a path towards SPARTA - the biggest 'winner takes all' Mixed Martial Arts event in history. His brother, Brendan (Joel Edgerton), an ex-fighter-turned teacher, also returns to the ring in a desperate bid to save his family from financial ruin. So when Brendan's unlikely, underdog rise sets him on a collision course with the unstoppable Tommy, the two brothers must finally confront each other - and the forces that pulled them apart - in the ultimate face off.

I watched it in the cinema and all us lads was sitting wanting to get up and cheer during the last game. It's one of the best films I've seen in my entire life. Actually, I'm going to watch it tonight.

So in the name of boxing, PUNCH IT!

BELLA ITALIA

So happy right now! I got offered the job as cinematographer with Discover the World. I am to go on a trip to Italy and make a 12-15 min documentary/promo video, following schools. The plan is to follow one school each day ;) They're covering all my expenses, so I'm thrilled beyond any human point at the moment.

Right now I'll use the next few days to brainstorm and create some suggestions to the company on what one could aim for. We're going to Sorrento, picture above.

Siri, a gitl in 3rd year video, got the position at Iceland. So congrats to her :)

SO HAPPY! :D

Have had this Pixie Lott song stuck today. This was the song I listened to just after I found out about the job. Started dancing at Swansea Uni when I was there, haah!

SHOWREEL

Hi guys! I'm so sorry for not bloging in the last couple of weeks.

It's just been crazy. A lot of projects to hand in and a philosophy essay on 'evil' that almost turned me into the Devil... Anyway, all done now. Semester one if finished! I've finished my showreel now for 2011. I needed to have it done now because I'm going to an interview in London on Thursday, for a job as a cinematographer for Discover the World. If I get it, I get to go to Iceland and film, which would be amazing. Anyhoodle, take a look at my showreel and don't forget to like my FB page --> TDL Media

I promise I'll keep you posted on the job interview and how it goes. Wish me luck!

NØDLANDING: BYE NORWAY, HELLO WALES

First, HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!! I'm going to post films from New Years Eve soon, promise.

Going home to Swansea :D Had a great Christmas, but it's going to be good to get back into the daily routine.

Above: I shot it in June on my way back to Norway for the summer.

Under: The clips I shot on my way back to Norway for Christmas. I've got a tradition were I take pictures/videos of the view outside (if possible).

I'm flying with Ryanair, so wish me luck!

For those of you that don't speak Norwegian, "Katastrofe" means catastrophe and "nødlanding" means emergency landing. Thought the artist name and title would be fitting for this post. AND the song is a good party tune!

Today's song: Katastrofe - Nødlanding
