I babysat my sister today and we had fun with play dough! I love that stuff, so fun and you can make loads with it. Picture 1, 2 and 4 is mine and number 3 was made by my very cute sister.
Wasn't those roses nice? I didn't make the leaves though. Love making figures, flowers, cakes etc. from marzipan around Christmas time. Funny enough, I don't like marzipan that much, like some, but few.

SUNDAY CYCLING + OWL CITY LOVE
Published:
16:56
BOOOOYYYYAAA :D 48,23 km/29,95 miles bike ride around the almost-island Hurum.
On the last bit there's a awful up hill, soooo long, but felt good when I reached it. Now I'm tired and really really hoping that I don't start at 08 tomorrow... can't remember.
Have you heard the new album to Owl City? I HAVE, of course! Check it out on Spotify here --> All Things are Bright and Beautiful
I'm considering changing my plain ticket back to UK. Cause now I'm flying back on the 14th of September, but Owl City is having a concert 10th in O2 arena. And one of my friends, Thea, asked if I wanted to join here. The tickets are only 22£, but it cost about 45£ to change the ticket to the 10th at this moment. Then add 20-25£ for a night in hostel + 25£ in food and travel expenses. So that's about.... 115-117£/1000 kr... My original flight is booked with Norwegian, cause I need two suitcases and Ryanair unfortunately doesn't allow more than one... BUT I really wanna go, might do it :D I think Owl City is so great and it's would be amazing.
This is the trailer for their new music video that's coming soon, Deer in the headlights

PRIDE PARADE 2011 IN OSLO
Published:
21:55
Me and Marianne went to Oslo (capitol) today to shop, eat and enjoy ourselves. And also to watch the Pride parade 2011, marking the end of the "gay week" in Oslo. Very amusing ;)
I'm proud to come from a country where everyone is almost equal, LGBT people can get married in the church, they can give blood, have kids and yeah. The new National Chief of Police department is married to a man and has one kid and expecting one more. That's great! In my picture series you'll see several proud and happy LGBT parents. A the very beginning of the parade the Minister of Children, Equality and Social Inclusion is walking, showing that the government only see humans, not orientations. The minister also wants to change the law so that it will be easier for LGBT people to adopt. The law now states that the parents have be approved by the origin country's law. Meaning f. ex. that a Norwegian LGBT couple can't adopt from several African countries.
Stopped by TGI Fridays after that and had Jack Daniels burger. Well, TGI Fridays in Oslo nothing to jump up and down about. Of course we could have come on a day when a bad chef was working, but that's no excuse. I also met a couple of friends in Oslo, which I haven't seen in like a year which was very nice :D I didn't shop anything, but my friend Marianne certainly did, hehe!

MOHAWK AND SKINHEAD
Published:

That's right everyone, NEW haircut! 5mm and a Mohawk :D Well I was thinking of cutting the Mohawk away by tomorrow, but I'll see. Cause I've NEVER liked mohawk, but I don't know. I was on my way out, when I looked at mama and said "Come on" and here we are. I thought fine, why not it's summer. Relax Laura, my golding locks will be back on my head by September ;) haha. It's lush, quick to dry and no time to style ;)
Right now Anine, Maja and me are having a "girlsnight" with wine (<3), snacks, pizza and face masks. Mine is dark chocolate from H&M, so gonna be fun to see if I'll eat it instead, haha!
Enjoy life people, do what you like and want. No one can tell you otherwise.

RED ONE WORKSHOP
Published:
12:45
OMG, almost a week since the last blog post, so sorry.
In the last post I promised to show and tell about the RED ONE camera seminar me and 6 others attended Thursday the 8th.
The RED ONE shoots in 4K resolution, which gives some pretty AMAZING pictures! For those of you that don't know how big 4K is:
The pink area is the standard resolution for a DVD. Then you have 720HD and 1080HD. If you have Blu-Ray player, you're watching 1080HD. Then you can imagine how massive and great the 4K pictures are with its 4096 x 2304 pixels. The image contains more information, more debt of colour and gives you a more "real" look. The great minds behind the RED cameras wanted to create something that would give you a better picture than 35mm film. No digital camera have been able to beat 35mm film with its many f-stops and high light sensitivity, before now. RED claims to have created a new sensor that will give you this.
Anyway, working with the RED ONE for a day was amazing! This is like porn to film students. Like I showed in the vlog post, the camera body alone costs 25 000 US$ (139 000kr/15 000£), so needless to say we were all very very careful. With started out with a technical lecture in the details around the RED cameras and he also compared RED ONE to DSLRs. Then we helped out in mounting this massive beast, with it's hard drives, batteries, viewfinders etc. After a quick lunch break, we headed out to film. One of our teachers had prepared a storyboard for us to shoot. So each of us did one shot each and we took turns changing lenses and filters, controlling focus and moving tripod and camera around. IT WAS AMAZING!!!!! :D What really special, is that the RED cameras shoots in RAW format, meaning separate Red, Green and Blue channels, white balance, exposure etc. That means that in editing, the editor can change the light setting from day to night, he can colour correct much better and easier.
Another feature on the RED Epis camera, is HDRx. For those of you that have done photography for a while, youæll recognise HDR, High Dynamic Range imagining. This is basically taking three (or more) different exposures and merge them together. One dark, one normal and one light, that's the basis of HDR. What HDRx is, is basically LIVE HDR. The Epic camera can shoot in HDR. This makes shooting where it's different lighting much easier. Let's say you're filming in a room with a window and it's daylight outside. You can adjust the exposure to the outside, but that makes the inside under exposed. If you adjust the exposure to inside, the outside would be over exposured. What you could do is to use lights to mimic the conditions outside, so you get a even exposure. With the RED Epic you don't have to. It shoot with different exposures, giving you a perfect exposed picture. That's pretty cool!
RED ONE is growing rapidly and being used both in TV series and films. For example the new Pirates of the Carrabian or, one of my favorite films, Jumper. Or series like ER and Pretty Little Liars.
Anyway, that day was amazing! Had so much fun and learned loads about RED ONE. (But we only scratched the surface). Like I said, IT WAS AMAZING! :D
Seen this yet? Katy Perry's new music video, released 12th of June. I loved it! So fun. Did you?

MY LITTLE BABY
Published:

Back in Norway now, so weird. Cars driving in the "right" side, strangers talking Norwegian and wooden houses xD Today I've been painting the new add-on to the house where I'm gonna live. My own little "apartment". We were hoping to have it done by Monday, but since all the stores are closed until Tuesday because of Pentecost (pinsen). It's so bloody annoying sometime that Christianity is the state religion! Why the hell do all of us have to suffer just because some people like to celebrate the 50th day after Jesus's supposedly resurrection?!? It's fine, have you beliefs and I do respect that, but do the whole country need to shut down... Ah well, hopefully we'll be done by next week so I can move my stuff down.
My little baby is alive again! My lovely Toyota 92' model <3 It broke down just before I moved to Wales, so for the Christmas and Easter holiday I didn't have a car.... which was utter pain. But thanks to my lovely and amazing family I now got a working and polished car :D Bus is OK, but it.....takes.....so.....long..... At least from my village, Åros. To Drammen, one of the closest cities, it takes 30 min by car and 55 min with bus and it's only one bus an hour (on weekdays). I love my car, it's light, fast, fun and have been through so much in and with this car. If you wonder about the decor; my mom's first car was a Volkswagen Beetle which she painted pink and added green footprints, as if someone had walked over the car. Naturally I had to follow in her footsteps, literally. So my car has got black footprints on it.
Thanks again Family! :D
But now, good night peeps!

LEAVING SWANSEA FOR THE SUMMER :'(
Published:

Bye bye halls, it's been fun. Our room is now empty except for our luggage. We moved all of our stuff into the new house yesterday and our rooms are sorted. I know this film is shit quality and it was only intended for us see the WHOLE room, but what the hell. I'll some better pictures when I come back to Swansea in mid September. It's a perfect house, brand new, no'ones lived there and the landlord is awesome. We pay 285£ per person per month, so that's good.
Forgot to film Chris's room to, so it's one more room in the house than you lot see. 5 in total.
It's both sad and great that the summer holiday here. I'm gonna miss Swansea and all my friends here. I'm even gonna miss the LC2 (gym). And of course the beaches, how nice they are :D But get to see my friends and family back in Norway! It's probably gonna be weird the first week or two, to speak Norwegian everywhere, Norwegian coins and the people I know in Norway. You get so used to living in a different place, so going back to the old seems just weird and in the beginning just wrong. In the summer I'm gonna be working a bit in the grocery store, jippi...., but I'll most likely say like "Thank you", "You're welcome" etc for many weeks. It's just embedded in my brain now. You use the word "Sorry" all the time, even out on town when people are absolutely smashed.
From one our many nights out on town:
This year has been one of the most exciting and best years in my life and hopefully the next two are gonna be great. I've met some amazing people and gotten some great friends and classmates. I love our class, we push each other and work together. I've ventured into the world of analog photography, with the help of my lovely photography friends. Tried some new things here and there, simply just enjoyed life. I'm almost counting the days until I'm coming back, either 10th or 13th September. A bit sad that some of my Norwegian aren't coming back, Janne, Silje, Elise and Christoffer, but we'll definitely see each other again. Christoffer is doing a internship in London and maybe Elise too :D
We had a very nice time out last night, came home at 04:00 xD AND to all you camera lovers, tomorrow I'm gonna tell you all and show you clips, from the RED 4K camera workshop I attended today. RED 4K camera is like the Caddilac in the film industry now a days or simply porn for a film student, haha. Stay tuned :D
As I always say, live your life to the full, no regrets and let no one stop you!!!! :D
Heard the new single Jason Derulo? Love it ;)

DON'T STOP THE PARTY

First of all, congrats to Jai McDowall for winning Britain's Got Talent. He has a good voice and seems like a great guy. I was also hoping for Ronan Park, during the semi-finals, but he was absolutely terrible in the final yesterday! He butchered that song, Kelly Clarkson - Because of you.... Cute boy, good voice, but not for that song if you ask me. (Sorry if you can't view this outside UK, but just do a quick YouTube search if it doesn't work)
Jai (winner) Ronan
Today I woke up at 13 I think and had breakfast around 14-15 ish xD You see, Alex, Johan and me went up to Mountain Dew (local pub) to have a few pints and play some darts. Normally they close 01, but this time they just "closed the curtains" for the general public. That means the party kept on and the smokers were allowed to smoke inside. We kept it going until 04:30, then the bartender wanted to go home, so me and Johan stumbled down the hill.
Other than that, today a group of us lovely Norwegians headed down to a thai restaurant in the Marina (can't remember the name). I tried a seafood dish with loads of different seafood. It was good, but boring. For me seafood tastes all the same, almost, it tastes like seafood... But had a good time :D
Heard this on the Official Chart show on Radio1 today, gonna be in all the clubs I reckon.

LAVERBREAD
Published:

Had a total relax day today. Went down town around 11 ish to buy after sun and some nose spray. Didn't have the greatest of sleeps last night, blocked nose which means me waking up every 30 min drinking water.... Then I needed some energy, so did a 6,47 km/4,02 miles run.
Yesterday when went to the beach I met a guy, Nathan, who works as a gardener and he's also a vegetarian. He told me about a Welsh specialty, laverbread. Laverbread, or Bara Lawr in Welsh, is a local made dish, made by seaweed (yes you heard me right, seaweed) which is boiled for several hours and then minced. It has a salty taste and is rich on iron. I asked where can I buy this and he said down in the market. So that's what I did, head down to the market and bought meself some laverbread. You can serve it on toast, crackers or I also heard you can fry it with bacon and cockles (muslinger). I fairly enjoy, at bit weird in the beginning, but still good. So gonna try to fry it tomorrow. Don't have cockles though, but do have bacon.

"My philosophy in life is to never regret anything you do, it's what makes you who you are." Music is important to me, it's a way for me to show my feelings. Lyrics that touch you and makes you smile and help you live your life to the full. Feeling the rhythm going through your body, giving you a pace when you're out running or a beat to dance to.
Music is you, music is life and life is one long song. Live your life and never let anything stop you.

THREE CLIFF BEACH
Published:

We went to Three Cliff beach today, by Gower. SOOOO NICE! Thanks for the ride Guillaume :D Like we agreed on, it's gonna be a slight disappointment going back to Norwegian beaches after being here:
We had well over 25 degrees in the shade and we lay tanning most of the time. AND we went for a swim in the Atlantic. It was a bit chilly still, probably around 16-17 degrees, but it felt a bit warmer the fourth time we went in. Gonna be so lush to come here when we get back to Swansea in September, warm warm sea.
Tomorrow we're having a bonfire night down at Swansea beach. If you live in Swansea you're more than welcome to come.
Have to start packing soon... really don't want to... Have to sort out what to bring to Norway for the summer and what to bring down to our new house. This time I at least have two suitcases, or technically one suitcase and one massive backpack. It's just a hassle having to choose what to bring where... Oh well it's worth it in the end ;)
Now I'm listening to the Judge Jules show on Radio 1, with the best and freshest club tunes. Tune in you too!

Elise and Christoffer is leaving Swansea soon and won't be coming back in September :( So they hosted a bye-bye party in their posh marina apartment. I'm gonna miss both of the very much <3 Pictures are shot with my 35mm film camera and converted to black&white in Photoshop. Thanks Elise for helping me out with the negative processing.
As you probably have seen, Swansea City (football team) has made to Premiere League, as the first Welsh team ever. This makes the whole of Swansea celebrate. Over 10 000 people took to the street to see the winning parade Monday. Me, Thea and Christoffer saw the opportunity and grabbed our cameras :D Shot on my Canon EOS 450D.
Today me, Johan, Nora, Helene, Ingeborg and Inger have been tanning outside halls. It was about 22 in the shade today and lush and boiling in the sun. I used my lovely sun oil and got the beginning of a tan. Tomorrow it's supposed to be even hotter, so we're going to Three Cliff bay to swim, play, BBQ and get a tan.

FUCKING BLOODY PERFECT
Published:
20:47
Finally after so much trouble with the export and codec, Vimeo has finally accepted my file. My new film "Fucking perfect".
I decided to make a piece about eating disorders amongst men, to prove that it isn't just a "girl-thing" or a "TOP MODEL issue". The reason for this is because I suffered from the early stages of bulimia at the age of 10-11 cause of bulling. It never got to a serious state cause I managed to stop it. Read more HERE
I was thinking of making a documentary, but because I didn't know anyone in Swansea suffering from a eating disorders I looked into getting into a hospital or teatment center. I found out it would have taken months to get all the permissions, so I decided to make a fictional piece in a documentary style. For me it was important that the actor was apart of the character development. I wanted to do it all by "controlled" improvisation. I gave the actor films, articles and stories to study and told him to develop a person. I had designed moodboards, bullet-points, so I could guide him, but still let him keep his "independence".
In retrospect, it might not have worked out as I had hoped, but I learned a great deal from this film. I'll probably never be a 100% happy with my films, cause you'll always think what if I had done this or that instead. But you learn from it and advance, that is the most important thing, so that one day you can get close to 100%.
Could have been better:
- Lighting during interview (those shaddows are killing me)
- Some audio disturbance
- Could have tried with more cutaways
I'm very inspired by people and stuff around me and very much music. Music is a great to express one self. You can almost always make out my mood from the music I listen to. I try that the "Today's song" on my blog reflects my day and normally it does.
For this piece I was inspired by P!nk, Kelly Clarkson and Christina Aguilera.
The Fucking Perfect gave me the title for my piece. That video and its lyric is so strong and a great song. So What is an about just don't give a fuck really, pardon the language. I've listened to that sooooo many times when I wanna be a rebel.
Christina Aguilera's song Beautiful is an great song! The lyric and video is song strong and says everything and much more of what I try to say in my film. And Breakway, cause well it's my favorite song and symbolizes freedom.
I was also inspired by this piece Joshua by Phoebe Sexton, a picture story about his fight against eating disorder.
