Wrote all this yesterday evening, so much, but had to wait with posting it because of the picture.

In the past 6 months, if people asked me "What do want to work as when you finish university?", I always answered "Work as a cameraoperator for NRK or TV2 and maybe advance to producer" (Norway's version of BBC and ITV) A person asked me two weeks ago and I gave that answer... Suddenly just now, and I don't know why, I just freaked out, what am I doing??? Have I abandon my idea about traveling? I swore I wouldn't end up with a "A4 life" and be an average Joe....
"A4 life":
- Finish university
- Get a job, one you can advance in
- Find the love of your life and marry
- Live in a white house with 2,1 cm long perfect grass and white fences + drive a Volvo
- Have kids
- Go to work at 8 o'clock and come home at 17 o'clock
- Retire
- Die
Which might work for some and I respect those that do, I really do, but I can't do it ! Part of me want a life like that, but the other half is screaming NOOOOOO xD hehe I'm very glad I left Norway after college (videregående) and moved away, one thing I've wished for for some years :D
I've already applied for several summer internships at big TV channels and newspapers in Norway for this summer. I know I need money and that a job as a cameraman looks good on your CV and the more experience you can get during university, the better. I want to learn too and do jobs like that cause you can learn a lot, but I also have other dreams. My dream is to go on Interrail for 6-7 weeks in summer through Europe, maybe alone or most likely with a friend(s), visiting all of the countries and experience different cultures and ways of life. Think of all the footage I could get for my film projects and all the great pictures I could take.
Walk around in Colosseum and imagine the blood fight of the gladiators and the crowd cheering loud. Getting high in Amsterdam on freshly baked hash-brownies or eating a French baguette under the Eiffel Tower. After seeing the film
Eurotrip when I was 13-14 (and about 30 times since, saw it yesterday too), my mind was set, I want to travel or have a job where I could travel the world. That was my dream, to capture the world with my camera (photo&video) and show others. I used to want to, and still do, to work as a cameraman/photographer for Travel Channel or maybe for National Geographic (which has
THE best animal pictures in the world).
(Yesterday: About here I had to much to think about, my head was full of thoughts, so I went for a 60 min jogging, 4,3 miles/6,9 km, to clear my head. Now I'm back)
After a nice long jog, I think I might found a solution: Work in a media company this summer and Easter 2012, save up all the money and go on Interrail part of summer 2012 (of course I'm gonna work the rest of it, cause I enjoy working). I don't need any fancy hotels or anything, we're talking backpacking through Europe and connect to people through Couch Surfing, which I have mentioned earlier,
free <3. You can't experience a country's culture from a hotel room, unless the receptionist is very talkable...
