I'M SEXY AND I KNOW IT

My very talented photography friend, Inger Richenberg, had a project on showing Norwegian culture or typical Norwegian stuff. So she asked a load of us Norwegians to help out and as the hunk and gentleman I am, I gladly volunteered. Plus I got a new Facebook profile picture. The jumper I'm wearing is a home knitted jumper one of my grandmothers made for me last year, I love it. And the mittens I've made myself! I love modelling, so much fun.

I still haven't had a full naked shoot yet. Haha! I would never do full frontal where you could see my wand, but besides that all in the name of art.

Johan also had a photoshoot after me, but we thought it be fun to do a couple of shots with both of us. He's wearing a Norwegian One Piece. That's right! One Piece is Norwegian.

FILM SET

We finished our first shoot for the university project "Studio" on Tuesday. The project is to use the TV studio and only the TV studio and controlroom to film it. So for this project we're building two sets, a bedroom (above) and a police interview room. We laid in flooring, painted the walls, full furniture (bed, tables, wardrobe, draw etc.) Thanks to our friends our project became a reality, so thank you so much for all your help!

Today (Wednesday) we repainted and decorated it for the interview room.

We talked to a UK police detective to get info on what would realistically to find in an real interview room. Through Star Now we found two actors to play the main roles.

We have had so much fun and I have personally learned loads working as a Producer for this film.

TAKE A STAND: DEAR RUSSIA, I'M GONNA SAY IT ANYWAY!

In the film you hear the music is the famous Swan Lake by Russian composer and artist Tchaikovsky (May 7, 1840 – November 6, 1893). He was gay. So that will in theory make it illegal to play or discuss his music. Why? Because he fell in love with men.

Does anyone see the logic in this law? I certainly don't

Effectively what this means, is to stop the "promotion of sodomy, lesbianism, bisexualism and the transgenderism". Making it a crime to read, write, speak, meet or discuss anything "gay". The punish for promotion of homosexuality is a fine of 5,000 roubles, £107 or up to 50,000 roubles, £1,070 for holders of public posts. The fines are increased tenfold again for legal entities.

That means if I ever go to St. Petersburg I couldn't be myself. So I'd have to hide my bisexuality and don't "promote gayness". What are they afraid of? It's not like LGBT people are the Fairy Godmother from Cinderella and when they bump into a random guy in the streets, turn them into the next hip drag queen... ?

I swear... there must be something wrong with the Gregorian calendar. I think when the bell struck 00:00 on 31st of December 2011, Russia didn't move on to 2012, but back to 1314.

ST. DAVIDS DAY / Dydd Gŵyl Dewi

Today is Wales national day, St. David's Day.

So...

(Had to google it of course. Several of my classmates told me what it was today so looks about right)

St. David (Welsh: Dewi Sant) was born towards the end of the fifth century. He was a scion of the royal house of Ceredigion, and founded a Celtic monastic community at Glyn Rhosyn (The Vale of Roses) on the western headland of Pembrokeshire (Sir Benfro), at the spot where St David's Cathedral stands today. David's fame as a teacher and ascetic spread throughout the Celtic world. His foundation at Glyn Rhosin became an important Christian shrine, and the most important centre in Wales. The date of Dewi Sant's death is recorded as 1 March, but the year is uncertain – possibly 588. As his tearful monks prepared for his death St David uttered these words: 'Brothers be ye constant. The yoke which with single mind ye have taken, bear ye to the end; and whatsoever ye have seen with me and heard, keep and fulfil'.


To be fair, this year I didn't notice it too much, which is a shame really. Last year I remember going into town and tasting Welsh cakes with chocolate on. Very sweet I must admit.

The water in Swansea Castle square is coloured red, which I think is pretty cool. This year they did it coming up to the Wales vs. England game (rugby). Where Wales won!

I actually miss celebrating 17th of May, Norway's National Independence Day. This is going to be my second year out of the country, feels a bit sad, but at the same time we are 110 Norwegians in Swansea. So the patriotic feeling is definitely present.

Last year we went to the pub and stood up and sang the national anthem in the pub. Everyone around clapped when we'd finished!
